MEET DON
Throughout his career in public service, Don Prichard has built a reputation as someone who leads with conviction, accountability, and a deep respect for the people he serves. In 1998, then 17-year-old Don Prichard joined the Florida Army National Guard. Two years later, he began his career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
While in the Sheriff’s Office, Don served in a wide range of leadership positions, including Public Information Officer, Traffic Homicide and DUI Task Force Supervisor, and Executive Officer to the Sheriff.
Don’s responsibilities placed him at the center of public safety operations, strategic planning, crisis management, budgeting, and community engagement. He became known for bringing people together, improving efficiency, and finding practical solutions that protected both taxpayers and the communities he served.
During this period, Don also served as president of the police union representing more than 1,200 deputies and sergeants. His leadership in that role earned him respect from law enforcement professionals, local leaders, and working families.
In 2003, he deployed to Iraq during combat operations, where he also helped train Iraqi police forces in some of the most dangerous regions of the country.
Known for his straightforward leadership style and ability to unite people from different backgrounds, Don believes public service should be rooted in trust, transparency, and accountability.
Don has spent his life making tough decisions, solving real problems, and standing up for people who are forgotten or overlooked. These are the values and principles he will take with him as the next Florida Commissioner of Agriculture.

Will advocate to reduce the state tax on gas to bring prices down at the pump for Floridians, making it easier for them to afford their bills.

Will work as a member of the cabinet to STOP Data Centers from hurting Floridians and to put a moratorium on them being built in Florida.
